What is the nutritional information on this product?
Respuesta: Urad dal , is heavy, unctuous and slightly heating, this is an excellent food for thin people, is calming food and they should eat it frequently. This is not good for heavy people especially obesity. -

Respuesta: From back of bag: Allergen Advice: Packed in the facility that also handles tree nuts, wheat, corn, soybeans, mustard seeds, and sesame seeds. -

Hi! How long do you soak this? Also, how long do you cook it and how much water/dal, what temperature, and how to do if not in a pressure cooker?
Respuesta: Hi i soak it ALL night-12 hours, it makes it more digestable. Usually i blend it & make out of it Dosa.As per coocking, like rice, same amount of water- just cover it with water & if it was soaked all night- the cooking time is less. Boil it, turn the flame down, add Ghee & spices & cook untill all the water evaporated. A very good source of protein for Vegan/ Vegeterians -

Respuesta: The question has been answered below: Gluten is a wheat-specific protein. However, certain other grasses do contain proteins that are related to what might be called 'true' gluten in wheat. Urad Dal is a variety of lentil, and contains no gluten at all. However, if the lentils have been in a facility that also processes wheat products, there could possibly be some contaminating gluten on the outside of the beans. If this is a concern, my advice would be to wash the Urad Dal beans a few times with several volumes of water before using. Assuming that there was any gluten present, this should remove it from the surface of the lentils.
