Zoo Med Creature Soil for Terrariums 3 Quarts The Zoo Med Creature Soil substrate is an excellent soil for a wide variety of animals, including tarantulas, isopods, scorpions, and lizards, among others. This substrate is suitable for creating a humid environment similar to a jungle or rainforest, but it is not recommended for leopard geckos. The Zoo Med Creature Soil substrate does not contain any calcium, which should be provided through gut loaded food rather than substrate. The pH level of the substrate is not clear, although it works well for small tarantula slings. The substrate is perfect for burrowing tarantulas, and it's excellent for breeding isopods. It arrives quickly and is always packaged well. The product is affordable, and a 3 pack would be sufficient for most terrariums. The substrate stays moist for long, so re-dampening is not often necessary.
