What makes it red? Should you forego putting food coloring in hummingbird nectar?
Respuesta: Please don't buy anything with artificial red color. Make your own with regular sugar. 4 parts water to 1 part sugar. -

Does this product have expiration date?
Respuesta: I don't know about an expiration date. Our recommendation is to make your own nectar with 1 cup sugar to 4 cups water, bring to boil for 2 minutes and then let cool. Store leftovers in the refrigerator. -

Can this be used for orioles too?
Respuesta: We recommend our oriole nectar to attract them as it has a slightly citrus flavor which they enjoy. -

Which information is correct? 100% sucrose yet obviously contains a dye additive. Requires refrigeration/doesn’t require refrigeration.
Respuesta: I don't know about the sucrose/dye situation, but the mix contains all sucrose and then the dye. It does not require refrigeration when dry, before mixing with water for pouring into the feeder. If you were to mix in advance, it will require refrigeration. -

Respuesta: The bag is not resealable. -

Respuesta: I don't personally have squirrel issues with my hummingbird feeders, BUT I have my feeder hung where they really can't comfortably get to it. -

Respuesta: I always use a red version. That attracts the hummingbirds. Some stay all year long, and some return every spring. -

What can you use in a outside feeder so the water will not freeze?
Respuesta: This depends on the weather conditions in your area. In Texas where it barely freezes, you may not need to worry about freezing. However, if you're in colder climates, you can use a heated hummingbird feeder or add a heater to a regular feeder. -

Once mixed, does the solution need to be refrigerated?
Respuesta: Yes, once mixed, the nectar needs to be refrigerated. It can be stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 months.
