The Seagate Backup Plus 4TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 STCA4000100 is a versatile drive that is suitable for backup and active hard drive usage. The drive is fast and compatible with USB3.0 and FW800. Customers note that the drive goes into sleep mode after 15 minutes of no use and it can also be used with a router. It is a USB 2 compatible drive and it does not have an on/off switch. It comes with a USB 3.0 to SATA adapter which is removable, exposing the SATA3 data and power interface. The drive can fit on its big side, but a problem with diminished cooling is likely to occur. The drive is reported to Consume less than 10 watts of energy. However, there are concerns about the drive's durability.
