Respuesta: Depending on what year GM vehicle you have, and what features, it allows you to retain on-star, door chimes, steering where controls and other things. The security system is also controlled through the radio and without this your car will be stuck in security limp mode meaning you will not be able to drive more than 45 mph. Been there done that don't make my mistake. Also verify that this is the proper interface for your specific vehicle or you will have the same issue -

I have a 2005 Yukon XL with OnStar (no Bose). I don't care about OnStar. I want to use this with an ototo android radio 01rsidqa62d. Will this work?
Respuesta: The Crux unit is an interface between the stereo and the vehicle's network. Basically, it will allow the warning chimes (door open, seatbelt, etc.) to sound through the stereo like the factory and prevents some error codes (theft, etc.). It will not interface any of the 'High tech' features of the Android radio (GPS) with the vehicle's computers. It is the correct interface for your vehicle.
