Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What is the ideal application of the Bait Buster Professional Grade Cast Net?
Answer: The Bait Buster Professional Grade Cast Net is perfect for catching live bait such as shrimp, baitfish, and other small marine organisms. Designed for those who regularly engage in fishing, its robust 3/8" square mesh allows for optimal trapping while minimizing the escape of smaller bait. This net is suitable for both saltwater and freshwater environments, making it versatile for various fishing scenarios, whether you're casting from a boat, pier, or the shore. -
Question:
How should I properly throw the Bait Buster cast net?
Answer: To throw the Bait Buster cast net effectively, first ensure the net is properly arranged to avoid tangles. Stand with one foot forward and hold the horn of the net in one hand while gathering the net with the other hand, creating a loop. Release the loop in a circular motion, utilizing your arm and wrist for power. Practicing your technique will help improve your casting distance and accuracy, essential for successfully catching bait in varied water conditions. -
Question:
What materials is the Bait Buster Professional Grade Cast Net made from?
Answer: The Bait Buster cast net is crafted from high-quality monofilament, providing durability while maintaining a lightweight design. This material is resistant to wear and tear, ensuring longevity even with frequent use in various fishing conditions. The net's mesh is designed to sink quickly, which helps in trapping bait efficiently while reducing drag in the water, making it an ideal choice for professional anglers who demand reliability and performance. -
Question:
How can I maintain and care for my cast net?
Answer: To maintain your Bait Buster cast net, rinse it with freshwater after each use to remove salt and debris, which can degrade the material over time. Dry the net completely before storing it, preferably hanging it in a cool, dry location to prevent mildew. Regularly inspect the net for any damage or wear, ensuring it's always in top condition for your next fishing outing. Proper care will extend the life of your investment, making it a staple in your fishing gear. -
Question:
What size options are available for the Bait Buster cast net?
Answer: The Bait Buster Professional Grade Cast Net is typically available in various sizes, allowing you to choose one that suits your needs. Common diameters range from 6 to 10 feet, each designed to accommodate different fishing conditions and types of bait. Selecting the appropriate size based on the area you're fishing will enhance your ability to catch the desired quantity and size of bait efficiently. -
Question:
Can this cast net be used for catching fish larger than bait?
Answer: While the Bait Buster is primarily designed for catching bait, it can occasionally capture small fish as well. The 3/8" square mesh is tailored for baitfish and smaller marine life, so catching larger fish is usually not ideal. In scenarios where small fish are encountered, the net could trap them; however, it's essential to have other equipment geared toward targeting larger species specifically. -
Question:
Is the Bait Buster cast net suitable for beginners?
Answer: Yes, the Bait Buster Professional Grade Cast Net can be suitable for beginners. Its design balances quality and usability, making it accessible for those new to fishing. However, like any fishing gear, mastering the casting technique may require some practice. Beginners will benefit from tutorials or guidance from experienced anglers to enhance their skills and gain confidence while using the cast net. -
Question:
What is the mesh size and its significance?
Answer: The mesh size of the Bait Buster cast net is 3/8", which is specifically designed to trap smaller baitfish and shrimp effectively. This size ensures that the net casts a sufficient area while allowing for thorough gathering of bait without losing smaller catches. Choosing the correct mesh size is crucial, as it directly influences your ability to acquire a variety of bait while minimizing escape risks during fishing endeavors. -
Question:
How does the weight of the net affect its performance?
Answer: The weight of the Bait Buster cast net influences its sinking speed and casting distance. A heavier net will sink faster, making it easier to catch bait quickly before it disperses. Conversely, a lighter net may require more effort to cast properly. Understanding the weight and balance of your cast net can significantly enhance your overall fishing strategy, allowing for more efficient bait collection in diverse environments. -

Bait Buster Nets CBT-BB5 Editorial Review
The Bait Buster Professional Grade Cast Net is a popular choice amongst fishermen who are looking for a high-quality net to add to their fishing gear collection. Made in Taiwan, this cast net comes with a dragon head swivel and has a 38" square mesh. While the company was not supportive of this product and did not respond to customer emails, customers found this net to be a good value for money. They recommend replacing all the blail lines with equal lengths and trimming knots to improve performance. Users also confirmed that the net size ordered can be doubled to calculate the net opening, and the 9-foot net is heavy and sinks fast due to its round bb type weights. Overall, the Bait Buster Professional Grade Cast Net is a well-made and functional net that is highly recommended by customers for its quality and affordability.
